Tatting is a time-honored form of lacework, involves knotting and looping thread to create intricate decorative pieces, from doilies to jewelry.
This thread is  also used for fine crochet and lace.

Tatting thread is not really a thread. It's a cord, it's a six-cord cordonet, referring to six individual strands, of cotton.
