Opened by Joan Sanderson in October 1969, Colorcraft was established and situated at the top of the Market Square, Saffron Walden for 53 years. She encouraged and enable everyone to have a creative outlet, all throughout the 1970s, 80s and into the next century.

From 2016, Heather, Jo, Sarah, Karen & Helen, plus our indispensable Saturday Girls, helped countless people enjoy creative hobbies. We sold stuff to make more stuff, along with some helpful tips and advice. A place to find almost the impossible vital ingredient for that project or ideas to start something new.

Then along came Covid.

Sadly, in March 2023, we closed our iconic shop in Saffron Walden. However, like the Phoenix, we are back! Hopefully we can still be of the same assistance as before, online and by appointment at our Micro shop.
